In a statement issued in Pune, CREDAI said the approval of the development plan would accelerate the development and growth of villages.

Satish Magar, President, CREDAI, Maharashtra, said the move would also result in the growth of construction industry. “The development plan will lead to growth and progress. The increasing demand of homes and diminishing availability of space will be resolved. In the years to come, more projects are likely to take off,” said Magar.

The CREDAI statement came after the inauguration ceremony of the ‘Profest 2012’, a property exposition organised here recently. The expo was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Prabhakar Deshmukh. Vikas Deshmukh, district collector, Mahesh Pathak, Municipal Commissioner, PMC, Asheesh Sharma, Municipal Commissioner, PCMC, Shreerang Landge, Director, Town Planning Department of Maharashtra and CREDAI members Shravan Agarwal, Anuj Bhandari, Sanjeev Wani, Bharat Agarwal, Amit Parmar, Akil Agarwal. The official directory of CREDAI Pune Metro was also released on the occasion.

CREDAI said it would help the city meet the need for affordable housing. “The expo has been organised to satisfy the basic housing needs of the middle class and high class alike. Even as the property rates are increasing, the demand is also growing. Land cost, increased prices of raw material required in construction industry, unavailability of sufficient skilled and unskilled labour along with different taxes levied by government make the projects costly. There seems bleak possibility of getting properties economically,” said Magar.
