WeWork adds its fourth space in Mumbai


News Point: WeWork launches its community-driven workspace at Oberoi Commerz II, International Business Park, in Goregaon. The buzzing new space will occupy six floors in a 30-storey building and welcome 1400 members.

The new space – Oberoi Commerz II – is the latest addition to WeWork spaces in Mumbai, after BKC, Marol and Vikhroli.

This new space spans six floors of a 30-storey LEED Gold-certified commercial building, in an area designated as the International Business Park of Mumbai. Members can enjoy a stunning view of the Mumbai skyline, access to high-rise buildings with premium office spaces, and a five-star hotel. Oberoi is situated right off the Western Express Highway and  is well-connected to the airport.

The latest location is aimed at sparking collaboration, innovation and ideas, with WeWork’s signature elements like phone booths, nooks, game room, meditation/wellness room and large common areas. 

Creators in the Goregaon neighbourhood will find the space filled with inspiring amenities. In addition, dog-friendly spaces, mother’s room, multiple conference and conversation rooms, showers and an on-site gym add comfort and convenience.

Upon entering the building, its  modern interiors augmented with  the use of Italian Marble ‘Satvario’ and concrete flooring stands out in the light-filled space. With the design team maintaining continuity of the building’s architecture by adding strokes of bright colours to give off a contemporary vibe, the main member floor and common area reflect the spirit  that brings the space to life along with  contemporary furnishings in velvet, suede and leather that also infuse the space with comfort and style.

A key visual element and component of the space is a tree-like seating feature that gives it a very modern vibe. With this being the perfect spot to sit around to share ideas or just have a cuppa with team members, the space is also accompanied by abstract, vibrant artwork designed by the WeWork Art & Graphics team that perfectly complements the grey concrete floors and white walls.

Well-lit with a glass elevation that provides ample natural light, the space’s core design approach was to create a space for members that feels clean and minimalistic in style.  Instilling a refreshing take on the urban neighbourhood, the space complements with a sophisticated experience that is simple yet highly functional.
