Four years after Singapore-based Ascott Ltd, a serviced residence operator, entered India, it has decided to part ways with its local partner in a bid to speed up expansion plans and have more control over its proposed projects.
Tata Realty Initiatives Fund-I, managed by Tata Realty and Infrastructure Ltd, has bought over Kotak India Real Estate Fund-I, a $100 million (Rs.450 crore) fund managed by Kotak Realty Fund in Peepul Tree Properties Pvt. Ltd for Rs.385 crore.
Omaxe Infrastructure & Construction Ltd (OICL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Omaxe Ltd, has bagged a contract from Director General Married Accommodation Project (DGMAP), Ministry of Defence, to construct residential accommodation including allied services for Officers, JCO / ORs at Deolali (Army) and Nasik (Air Force), Maharashtra.

DLF Limited, India’s largest real estate company, recorded consolidated revenues of Rs 2,594 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, an increase of 21% from Rs 2,151 crore in the Q3FY10. EBIDTA stood at Rs 1,292 crore, an increase of 33% as compared to Rs 969 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net profit was at Rs 466 crore, as compared to Rs 468 crore in Q3FY0. The non-annualised EPS for the quarter was Rs 2.74
While there are reports of price correction in Mumbai realty, R Karthik, Chief Marketing Officer of Mumbai based realty firm Lodha Developers believes there will be a positive trend in the year 2011 and the demand will be led by the real buyers.
Private equity investments continue to trickle into project or SPV level in the realty space. Sun Apollo India Real Estate Fund LLC, a $630-million India-dedicated real estate private equity fund, has invested Rs 100 crore in a residential project SPV led by Parsvnath Developers Limited (PDL). SUN-Apollo will invest Rs 100 crore for a 49.9% stake in the project SPV, Parsvnath Buildwell Private Limited, which will develop a premium residential project at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, spread over an area of 31 acres. The project is called Parsvnath Exotica- Ghaziabad.
