Century Real Estate set to raise Rs 700 crore

Century Real Estate Holdings, the realty development arm of three-decade old Bangalore-based Century Group, is looking to raise Rs 700 crore through private equity players in three tranches. The company during the past four years have been focusing on development of projects, is understood to be effecting this deal at the holding company level.

BPEP may invest 350cr in Bangalore realty company

Baring Private Equity Partners India (BPEP), along with some of its international investors, is likely to invest about $75 million, or approximately Rs 350 crore, in the Bangalore-based Century Real Estate. Baring’s individual commitment to the deal is around $53 million, while overseas investors who are backing the fund may bring in a little over $20 million in additional investment.

Sahara objects to RBI ad on deposits

The Sahara Group has taken umbrage over a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) advertisement, issued earlier this week, asking customers to be cautious about deposits raised by the Sahara India Pariwar and has challenged the central bank’s jurisdiction to do so.

PAL-Peugeot land fetches 601 cr

In what real estate experts see as a sign that land rates are becoming more realistic, a 135-acre plot that belonged to the defunct PAL-Peugeot auto company in Dombivli has been auctioned off to Metropolitan Infra Housing Pvt Ltd (a subsidiary of Gammon India) for Rs 601 crore.

The Singapore based Netz Capital backed firm Netz Realty is launching Green Township projects on the model of self sustainable living for the 100 acres plus projects being planned near Mumbai and Bangalore.

Appellate body allows CCI to continue DLF probe

The Competition Appellate Tribunal (Compat) has refused to stay the proceedings of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) against real estate major DLF and permitted the competition watchdog to go ahead with its inquiry. Compat will hear the case on February 10.
